What is TimeTrove?
TimeTrove is a desktop time tracker for one person on one machine. It keeps the current task and today's total in a small bar on screen, notices when you've been away, and produces a Monday-to-Sunday timesheet at the end of the week.
The daily loop
- Track. Press Cmd/Ctrl+Shift+T anywhere, type part of a task name and press Enter. The previous task stops and the new one starts. See Switching tasks.
- Correct. If you leave your desk, close the lid or quit the app, TimeTrove asks where that time should go the next time you're back. Nothing is assigned until you answer. See Gap attribution.
- Report. The Timesheet tab shows tasks by day with totals, ready to copy or export as CSV.
What it is not
- Not a team tool. There are no accounts, no server and no sync. Your data is one SQLite file. See Data and backup.
- Not a project hierarchy. Tasks are a flat list. Use names, colours and stars to organise them.
- Not an ERP connector. The optional Jira Cloud integration posts worklogs. Everything else stays local.
Platforms
| Platform | Tracker bar |
|---|---|
| Windows | Docked above the taskbar near the tray, with a tray icon as a fallback |

The main window, switcher and prompts are the same on both.
