Timeline and entries
The Time entries tab shows one day at a time: a total, a per-task breakdown, a 24-hour timeline and a table of every time slice. Use it to fix anything that didn't go to plan.
Choosing a day
Use Previous and Next, pick a date, or click Today. Under the date you'll see the day's total, followed by each task's share of it.
The day timeline
Each coloured block is a time slice. Hover a block to see the task, its duration and any note.
- Resize a block by dragging its left or right edge. You can also focus an edge with Tab and use the arrow keys.
- Add time by dragging across an empty stretch (or clicking it). Choose a task in the bar that appears, then click Add.
- Zoom with − and +, or click Fit to zoom to the hours you actually worked.
The running slice can't be resized until it's stopped.
The entries table
Each row is one slice, with its task, start, end and duration. The actions:
| Action | What it does |
|---|---|
| Note | Add, edit or clear a short note for that slice |
| Move | Reassign the slice to another task |
| Split | Cut the slice in two at a time you choose (the midpoint by default) |
| Delete | Remove the slice after you confirm |
Move and Split are available once a slice has ended.
Adding an entry by hand
Click Add entry, pick a task, set the start and end, then click Add. The duration is shown as you type. Entries can't overlap other entries.
Merge adjacent
Switching away and straight back can leave a row of short slices on the same task. Merge adjacent joins finished slices on the same task that are less than a minute apart, so the table stays readable.
Notes
Notes are short and belong to one slice, for example "Export job retries" or "Pairing with Sam". Add them here, or from the switcher's Add note tab while you're working. Cells on the timesheet with notes show a small dot, and the notes appear on hover.
