GitHub activity

The GitHub tab gives you a read-only view of your current work on GitHub: pull requests you opened, pull requests waiting for your review, and your recent commits. It's handy when you're filling in a timesheet and need a reminder of what a day involved.

GitHub tab with open pull requests and their check and review status

Set up

GitHub activity shares its host, token and proxy with Copilot usage.

  1. In Settings → GitHub, tick Enable GitHub activity page.
  2. Set GitHub host to github.com, or to your Enterprise Cloud host (for example company.ghe.com).
  3. Paste an API token. It needs read access to pull requests, contents, metadata and checks. A classic token with the repo scope also covers private repositories.
  4. Optionally set your Username. If you leave it blank, it's worked out from the token.
  5. Set the Activity poll interval. The default is 30 minutes, and it can be anything from 5 to 120.

What you see

PRs you opened: each open pull request with:

  • its repository and how long ago it was updated,
  • check status: passing, pending or failing,
  • review status: approved, review required or changes requested,
  • unresolved review threads and comment counts.

PRs to review: open pull requests where your review has been requested. The ones still waiting on you are marked Needs your review.

Recent commits: your last 20 commits.

Click any item to open it on GitHub. Click Refresh to fetch now rather than waiting for the next poll. Results are cached locally, so the tab still shows the last fetch when you're offline.
